In order to take out a Dinghy for a few hours, you need to be a Regular Member or sign up as an Associate Member and demonstrate a level of proficiency in Dinghy sailing. This is a safety precaution. In mid-June we acquired our inaugural communal vessel, Paradox. In July, Falstaff joined the communal fleet.

The North Haven Dinghy is calling you! Whether solo or with a companion, racing or sailing on a lazy afternoon, come join in this time-honored delight. There are some two dozen Dinghies in active use, primarily in the waters around the Fox Islands in Maine, where the first Dinghy race was held on August 15th, 1887. Since 1912, a local yacht club, the North Haven Casino, has conducted most of the summer-season Dinghy races. You can see the most recent racing schedule.
